Term Time Only 27.5 Hours a week Monday to Friday +3 Cleaning Days

Rate of Pay: £18,075 annually + Mileage 45p a mile.

Mileage example:Mobile cooks will take off the miles from their home to the nearest of our schools. Example is, nearest school to their home is 20 miles away, they travel 60 miles to cover a school they would claim 40 miles at 45p a mile.

Location: All over Stevenage

Key Responsibilities

  • Travelling to (the locations they will be covering) within our primary or Secondary schools.
  • Prepare and cook meals, including catering for special dietary needs
  • Oversee cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and dining areas
  • Manage stocktaking and ordering of supplies
  • Maintain and monitor budgets effectively
  • Ensure compliance with the Food Safety Management System
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations
  • Serve meals to students and staff
  • Utilise IT systems for daily operations
  • Foster positive relationships within the school community
  • Motivate, develop, and support staff to reach their full potential

Ensure allergen information is correctly displayed, and food preparation follows dietary requirements

Ideal candidate

  • A valid driving license, business insurance, and access to your own vehicle are required to perform the duties of the role.
  • Previous experience in catering or kitchen management
  • Positive attitude with the ability to be an effective team player
  • Capable of leading and motivating a team
  • Food hygiene level 2 certification (preferred)
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Exceptional timekeeping and reliability
