Job title: Junior IT Engineer / Trainee IT Engineer / IT Career SwapLocation: StevenageDuration: 12 months initially - 180 eligible work days over the first 12 months.Day rate: £130-165 per day (Outside IR35)Start date: ASAP, but can allow for 4 weeks noticeStandard hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pmRole: We are assisting a successful IT consultancy with some key desktop projects in Stevenage.As Junior IT Engineer / Trainee IT Engineer, you will be completing the refresh of smartphones, laptops and desktops, engaging with users on a daily basis. We are looking to recruit an individual who possesses a good attitude and work ethic, so junior, trainee or IT career swap candidates should apply.Full training will be provided.Duties
  • Collection and unboxing of laptops, desktops and smartphones.
  • Preparation of laptop and desktops builds e.g. Asset label printing, Finding correct MAC addresses.  
  • Laptop and desktop builds.
  • Input of device details into the system as per requirements, putting devices on the build benches and building them off a USB stick. 
  • Once built, checking for all relevant applications.
  • Deployment and device upgrades for laptops, desktops & smartphones, adding relevant applications to users new laptops and transferring all data.
  • Updating the asset registry   
  • Assigning new devices and removing old devices.
  • Wiping/removing drives, removing assets from all relevant systems and updating the returns process.
Requirements
  • Possess an interest in IT, possibly supported by IT training, IT career swap or an IT apprenticeship
  • Personable, reliable, hard-working and honest
  • Excellent customer service skills, comfortable supporting users face-to-face
