Quantum Scholars are currently working alongside a well-regarded secondary school in Hertfordshire, who are currently seeking a Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher with the ability to teach both French and Spanish to secondary school level. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2025.
The school hiring are located in Hertfordshire. It is a mixed-comprehensive secondary school with a sixth form that caters to students aged 11-18 years old. They're rated as a "Outstanding" performing school overall by Ofsted.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in French and Spanish across Key Stage 3 and 4.
Ensure lessons are tailored to the needs of diverse learners, making language learning exciting and accessible.
Prepare students for GCSE exams, setting appropriate assessments and ensuring all students reach their potential.
Plan and deliver a stimulating curriculum that meets the requirements of the National Curriculum.
Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear targets for improvement.
Use data to track and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
Key Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Degree in Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish or a closely related subject).
Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) are encouraged to apply.
Previous experience teaching French and Spanish at Key Stage 3 and 4 is desirable but not essential.
Passion for languages and teaching, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
Excellent classroom management skills and a proactive approach to student development.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to departmental growth.
An adaptable, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and innovate.
A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for MFL.
