Teaching Assistant – Full-Time, Long-Term

Supply Desk is delighted to be working with a highly regarded primary school in Stevenage, known for its nurturing environment and commitment to inclusive education. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis starting as soon as possible.

About the Role:
You’ll work closely with teachers to support pupils in a structured setting. Your role will be instrumental in helping students build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning needs
  • Assist with classroom management and encourage positive behaviour
  • Adapt learning materials to suit a range of abilities and interests
  • Support the implementation of lesson plans and classroom activities
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Confidence in supporting classroom routines and managing behaviour
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding of inclusive practices and safeguarding
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
