Our client, a leading infrastructure organisation, is seeking an experienced Group Commercial Lead to join their dynamic Group Commercial team. This unique role blends commercial assurance and work winning strategy, giving you the opportunity to shape how the organisation delivers essential projects across Highway, water, energy, transport, and telecoms.
About the Role:
As Group Commercial Lead, you will oversee both commercial assurance and work winning processes across all divisions. You'll ensure the integrity, compliance, and profitability of contracts while driving the strategy behind bids and tenders. This is a high-impact role for someone with a sharp commercial eye and experience in leading governance and assurance across large, complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Assurance & Process
路Develop and implement consistent Cost Value Reporting (CVR) across all contracts
路Lead monthly and quarterly deep dives into divisional CVR submissions
路Implement trend-analysis reporting to identify risks and opportunities early
路Oversee commercial audits and continuous improvement initiatives
路Develop and maintain a Commercial Business Management System (BMS) and supporting training
Work Winning:
路Lead commercial governance for bids and tender submissions
路Conduct commercial reviews for high-value or strategic tenders
路Develop innovative pricing strategies and financial models
路Identify opportunities for margin improvement, value engineering, and alternative delivery models
路Build strategic commercial relationships to support winning bids
What You'll Bring:
路Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related field
路Relevant professional certifications (RICS or CICES preferred)
路Established senior experience in commercial management within Tier 1 contractors
路Experience in both commercial assurance and work winning processes
路Strong commercial, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
路Proficiency with commercial management systems, contract management tools, and financial software
