MERITUS Talent are working with one of Europe's leading defence manufacturers for the recruitment of an MRP Controller to join their Stevenage office on a long-tern contract basis. The role is full-time onsite and paying up to £24.55 per hour via umbrella. BPSS clearance is required for this role.
Role Overview:
The MRP Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day management of existing and future manufacturing schedules, delivering logistics management activities, and ensuring that customer programmes are met in a timely manner.
The role typically reports into a senior member of the Manufacturing Planning & Control team.
Responsibilities:

Manage and co-ordinate all planning-related activities to deliver the Manufacturing Planning Schedule (MPS) to time, cost and quality.

Co-ordinate and execute all activities related to the planning and procurement of materials, ensuring timely and adequate supply for manufacturing output against the MPS.

Release, manage, and schedule all work in the MRP system, maintaining delivery forecasts and communicating updates to customers.

Ensure efficient and effective material inventories in line with targets, minimising waste and costs. Maintain MRP system accuracy through regular stock checks.

Work closely with the Supply Planner to communicate potential plan changes and resolve supply chain constraints.

Identify risks related to supplied parts and escalate to the Planning & Control Team Lead within the sales and operations process.

Collaborate with Goods Receiving, Stores, and Despatch (Logistics Services) to manage inventory levels, resolve queries, maintain system accuracy, and ensure correct paperwork for stores and despatch transactions.

Support effective non-conformance management controls.

Maintain manufacturing bills of materials and strategy, ensuring master data is up to date.

Support achievement of KPIs for schedule adherence, inventory, and delivery through effective planning execution.
Skills & Experience Required:

Relevant experience in manufacturing planning, supply chain management, or a related role.

APICs supply chain certification desirable but not essential.

Experience with SAP would be beneficial.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and MRP systems.
