Role: Thermal Test Engineer
Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire (Gunnels Wood Rd, SG1 2AS)
Security Clearance: Must be eligible for BPSS
My client, a global engineering consultancy, is seeking a Thermal Test Engineer to support environmental testing operations at a leading aerospace facility in Stevenage. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge innovation within a world-class test lab.
Responsibilities
- Execute thermal vacuum and vibration tests on aerospace components
- Prepare and operate mechanical test rigs and instrumentation
- Review and analyze post-test data, compile reports and certifications
- Maintain test facilities and equipment to ensure operational readiness
- Support audits and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Deliver projects On Time, On Cost, and On Quality
Required Experience
- Solid understanding of thermal vacuum testing and mechanical processes
- Hands-on experience assembling mechanical test setups and interpreting technical documentation
- Ability to work independently and flexibly, including occasional weekend or double-day shifts
- Prior experience in a commercial test laboratory environment
Desired Skills
- Use of bespoke test facilities and tooling
- Design and manufacture of custom test setups
- Familiarity with internal/external audit processes
- Strong communication skills for liaising with customers and stakeholders
