Aeropeople have partnered with an aerospace, defence and energy company who are now looking to hire a permanent Project Manager, to be based at their site in Stevenage.

Established more than 70 years ago, they employ more than 9,000 employees in 14 different countries. Working closely with their customers, they deliver technologically differentiated systems and products with high certification requirements in the aerospace, defence and selected energy markets. Through focusing on engineering and operational excellence, they build broad installed bases of equipment for which they provide support throughout their lifecycle.

They are a global leader in the research, design, integration, manufacture, certification, and lifetime service of flight control, hydraulic, fuel and inerting, fluid conveyance, thermal management, lubrication, and pneumatic systems and components for aerospace and other high-technology markets.

The role of the Project Manager will be to manage multiple internal stakeholders (including Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Quality functions, etc.) to scope, coordinate, track and deliver product development, NPI and operational improvement projects for our aerospace product manufacture.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Drive the project team from proposal to delivery.
  • Plan, track and deliver the projects on time, on quality and in budget.
  • Fully responsible for all aspects of the equipment/deliverables and for ensuring the allocated team delivers to customer satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the project customers, internal and external.
  • Ensure full adherence to the business’ programme life cycle management process.
  • Provide inputs to regular Project reviews and other relevant business reviews and in line with the business life cycle management process.
  • Guarantee effective focus on mitigation of project risk to ensure successful completion.
  • Build efficient working relationships with other departments and stakeholders to deliver sustainable results.

About You:

  • Background and qualifications in an Engineering, Scientific or other relevant subjects.
  • Must have good knowledge of managing projects and people, both locally and remotely, on day to day basis.
  • APM, Prince2 or similar qualifications would be beneficial.
  • Proven track record of delivering NPI or operational improvement projects under challenging timescales with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills in communication, delegation and motivation.
  • Good analytical skills to be able to challenge the core tea constantly, achieving best value for the business.
  • Excellent communication skills to enable discussion and presentation of complex issues and solutions.
  • Demonstrate 'Lead by example' behaviour, casting the right shadow
