Job Role:

This Job description gives an outline of the post and is subject to review in consultation with the post holder.

You will be working as part of the Therapy Team you will provide guidance, active support, plans and coaching to the teams across division supporting individuals with behaviour that challenges and supporting individuals who are impacted by a learning disability, autism, acquired brain injury and/ or other mental health challenges.

You will be responsible for the implementation of PBS strategies that will improve the quality of life and service user’s well-being and working with our support teams, to reduce restrictive interventions.

Plan, write up and develop positive behaviour support plans which are personalised and meet the needs of those we support as well as enhance their choice & independence.

Leading by example, you will demonstrate strong influencing and communication skills, and will create a culture that encourages openness and transparency where the staff and service users feel fully engaged, and are empowered to innovate and improve services. You will be expected to model the values of the organisation, in all that you do.

To provide psychology input under qualified psychologist and trainee psychologist supervision to the  Care Team and service users; providing specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment in the limits of professional competency and experience under qualified psychologist supervision.

To work under supervision within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the Department’s policies and procedures. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the Department at the qualified requests.
