Role: Part Time Accounts Assistant

Location: Stevenage

Hours: Monday to Friday, 15 hours a week

Salary: £15.38 - £17.94 an hour, weekly pay

Temporary position, with the opportunity to go permanent  

An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a busy, well-established client based in Stevenage.

Our client is seeking an individual that is experienced within accounts, AAT level qualified and has flexibility to work on a part time basis, increasing hours over the busy period towards the end of the year.

Duties of an Accounts Assistant:

  • Ensuring authorised supplier invoices and credit notes are coded appropriately.
  • Reconciling supplier statements as received, notifying any discrepancies to suppliers on a timely basis
  • Regularly reviewing aged creditors report and all bank reconciliations and ensure problems are resolved swiftly
  • Preparation of supplier payment files, importation of BACS files to Business Internet Banking and setting up international bank transfers
  • Prepare daily sales reports
  • Assisting with the preparation of management accounts including journals for prepayments, accruals
  • Control code reconciliations
  • Prepare p&l reports for departmental managers and answer resulting queries
  • Maintenance of the fixed asset register and monthly reconciliation to nominal ledger
  • Analysis of expenditure
  • Assist with store and warehouse stock counts and investigate discrepancies
  • Review the annual audit analysis spreadsheet on a monthly basis

 

What we would like from you:

 

  • Experienced within an accounts department and managing accounts
  • AAT level 3 qualification or above
  • Double entry bookkeeping is essential
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong time management and ability to manage own workload
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Must be available to start immediately
