This exciting opportunity involves delivering high-quality physical education across both Infant and Junior settings, inspiring pupils to lead active and healthy lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Delivery

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and inclusive PE lessons across all year groups.
  • Work closely with class teachers to develop their skills and confidence in delivering PE.
  • Track and evaluate pupil progress in PE and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure curriculum delivery is aligned with national standards and school policies.

Subject Leadership

  • Coordinate PE across the Infant and Junior schools to ensure consistency and progression.
  • Develop and implement a clear strategic vision for PE and school sport.
  • Monitor teaching quality and learning outcomes in PE.
  • Manage PE resources and budget effectively.
  • Keep up-to-date with developments and best practices in PE and physical education.

Extra-Curricular Activities & Events

  • Lead a variety of sports clubs and physical activities before school, at lunchtime, and after school.
  • Encourage participation in extra-curricular activities and maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Organise and manage inter-school competitions and sporting events.
  • Liaise with Stevenage Sporting Futures to enhance school sports opportunities.
