Guidant Global is collaborating with a trusted Ministry of Defence client in the UK to recruit an experienced Security Vetting Support Officer. This officer will work in a dynamic and enthusiastic environment, supporting the management of security-vetted personnel within the organisation. This role is crucial to the business, ensuring the safe and secure handling of sensitive information.
As a Security Vetting Support Officer, you and your team will serve as the first layer of security, identifying and managing any personnel risks. Additionally, you will provide administrative support to the Personnel Security Manager and the team in the successful implementation of the Vetting Strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Join a highly motivated and forward-thinking security team.
- Contribute to a broader support framework that enables our business operations.
- Your primary responsibility will be to accurately complete and record all right-to-work and identity checks, ensuring potential candidates have the necessary documentation and legal rights to work in the UK.
- Efficiently input data into a third-party provider portal to minimise delays in the clearance process.
- Assist the team in obtaining BPSS and National Security Vetting clearances for new and existing employees at MBDA.
- Support the team in achieving its goals and mitigating risks to the organisation.
- Serve as the point of contact for vetting-related issues and concerns.
- Coordinate with UKSV and other internal and external agencies as needed.
- Monitor external IT platforms to obtain and update security clearances.

Essential:
- Demonstrate excellent administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and within the broader security department.

- Competent in IT, organised, and willing to learn new systems.
Desirable:
- Experience with HMG BPSS and UKSV vetting processes.
- Experience and knowledge of the MOD and defence industry.
- Relevant vetting qualification.
- Awareness and knowledge of recruitment and onboarding processes for the defence industry.
