Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Primary School

Location: Stevenage
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Full-time)
Start Date: As soon as possible

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming primary school in Stevenage. This is a full-time role supporting pupils in the classroom and helping them reach their full potential.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting pupils in their learning across different subjects and activities.

  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management.

  • Working 1:1 with children who have additional learning needs (e.g. SEND, behavioural, or emotional support).

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils build confidence and independence.

  • Supervising children during activities, transitions, and break times.

  • Supporting pupils with literacy, numeracy, and other key skills.

  • Helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Providing feedback to teachers on pupil progress and any concerns.

  • Assisting with record-keeping and other general classroom duties.

Key Requirements:

  • Must hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
    (A DBS refund will be provided after 20 days of completed work.)

  • Must be able to provide references from the last 2 years.

  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting is highly desirable.

  • A positive attitude, reliability, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
