A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Actuation Systems Centre of Excellence as a Systems Engineer, contributing to the design and development of electro-mechanical actuation systems used for missile steering. You will be part of a multi-disciplined team working across the full product lifecycle from concept through to qualification, collaborating with missile-level engineers and various disciplines within the Centre.

The role offers scope for candidates to join as a support or lead Systems Engineer, with opportunities to develop skills in emerging Systems and Digital Engineering methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specify, review and manage system requirements.
  • Collaborate with electronics, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure system functionality meets missile needs.
  • Support or lead system engineering activities across the product lifecycle.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Systems Engineering practices within the team.

The ideal candidate would ideally have:

  • Degree qualification in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline with proven experience.
  • Experience using modern Systems Engineering methods and tools.
  • Familiarity with requirements management, ideally IBM DOORS.
  • Experience working within multi-disciplined teams.
  • Interest or experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Exposure to safety-related or actuation systems.
  • Systems Lead experience and lifecycle phase exposure are advantageous.
