We are actively seeking a dedicated and experienced General Foreman to lead the safe and efficient execution of civil engineering projects. Responsibilities
As a General Foreman, your key duties will include:
- Managing labour, plant, and materials to meet programme schedules, cost constraints, and quality objectives.
- Overseeing site health and safety, ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are in place and strictly adhered to.
- Supervising the direct workforce and subcontractors, particularly on projects involving earthworks and RC structures.
- Reading and interpreting drawings, planning works effectively, and maintaining accurate site records.
- Holding daily briefings with team members and maintaining ongoing communication with project teams and clients.
Qualifications
Essential:
- A proven track record of success in civil engineering and earthworks.
- Strong leadership abilities, coupled with in-depth knowledge of health and safety practices (e.g., certification in SMSTS or SSSTS, and First Aid training).
- Competent IT skills for record-keeping and communication.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
Desirable:
- Experience working on substation projects or in the energy sector.
- Certification in HSG47 Service Avoidance, or a willingness to obtain this qualification.
