Mechanical Engineer – Helsinki

Up to €85,000 DOE + €13,000 Tax Free Subsistence + Flights, Accom, Bills Paid

First Task Professional are presently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Project Engineer to join the business to deliver a 50MW data centre just outside of Helsinki.

The city boasts one of the highest quality of life indices in the world and is a metropolitan hub with significant investment for data centres.

The project is undergoing a rock excavation at present and will run until early 2028 with high likelihood of follow-on projects in the region.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client communications
  • Oversee design management and contractor coordination
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments for construction
  • Deliver all HVAC requirements within project and safety standards
  • Coordinate pipework installation with project team to meet deadlines
  • Manage commercial aspects from estimating handover to full procurement of equipment, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Support installation works, ensuring site quality, programme delivery, commissioning, and handover
  • Document and cost scope changes; prepare monthly valuations and final accounts

Requirements

  • Proven experience in mechanical/electrical contracting environment
  • Design management experience essential
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or similar)
  • Strong organisational, communication, and time management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project
