We're recruiting for a Procurement Assistant to join the team at a bespoke joinery manufacturer. You will help ensure materials, components, and services needed for their manufacturing and joinery operations are procured efficiently, cost-effectively, and to high quality standards. You will support the Directors to maintain smooth workflows and uphold their craftsmanship ethos. Key Responsibilities- Assist in sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers for timber, hardware, finishes, tools, consumables, and other materials.
- Request, review, and compare quotations; negotiate terms and pricing where appropriate.
- Raise and manage purchase orders, track delivery schedules, and resolve discrepancies or delays.
- Maintain up-to-date procurement records in company systems (ERP / CMMS or equivalent).
- Monitor inventory levels of parts and materials, flagging low-stock items or critical spares.
- Collaborate closely with production, workshop and quality teams to anticipate material needs and prevent disruptions.
- Ensure supplier compliance with the company's quality, environmental, and sustainability standards.
- Assist with supplier audits, performance reviews, and developing continuous improvement in procurement processes.
- 1-2 years' experience in a procurement, purchasing or supply-chain role, ideally in a manufacturing or woodwork / joinery / building materials environment.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple procurement tasks concurrently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience with ERP, CMMS or purchasing systems
- Good negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.

- salary £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
