Are you an experienced Science Technician looking for a new opportunity in a dynamic and supportive school environment? Tradewind Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary school in Stockport to appoint a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Technician to join their team from September.

This is a full-time, term-time only position, offering £100 per day, and is ideally suited to candidates with a strong background in laboratory work.

About the Role:

As the school's Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Science Department to deliver engaging and practical science lessons across KS3 and KS4. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, setting up and maintaining laboratory equipment and materials for practical lessons.

  • Supporting teachers in the classroom during practical sessions where required.

  • Ensuring laboratories are clean, organised and comply with health and safety regulations.

  • Safely storing and disposing of chemicals and other hazardous materials.

  • Managing stock levels and placing orders for science supplies.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have previous experience working in a laboratory setting - either within a school or an industry environment.

  • Be confident handling scientific apparatus, chemicals and safety protocols.

  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.

  • Show strong communication skills and a proactive, flexible approach to their work.
