A secondary school in Stockport is seeking a Food Technology Technician to join their team within the DT Department on a temporary basis. Reporting in to the Head of Design and Technology, your key areas of responsibility will be workshop maintenance, preparation for class activities and ensuring the safety of all within the workshop areas.

  • Setting up equipment prior to lessons, for practical lessons and demonstrations
  • Clearing away equipment after lessons
  • Ordering equipment/supplies
  • Supporting the classroom during lessons
  • Ensuring the health and safety of all lessons
  • Maintain and clean the equipment and general workspace
  • Calculate and purchase food as required for the Food Technology department

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience of the above duties
  • Previous experience of working within a school environment, assisting pupils with practical lessons
  • Knowledge and understanding of key health and safety issues
  • A well-presented and professional attitude to work
