1:1 Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Stockport

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in KS1 with complex needs, at a welcoming Primary School in Stockport.

The child has a diagnosis of autism and can exhibit challenging behaviour, so the school are seeking a patient, consistent, and proactive Teaching Assistant who can build a strong and trusting bond. You will play a vital role in helping the child access learning, regulate emotions, and engage with the school day.

This is a long-term position, and the school are looking for someone who can commit to the role and provide continuity of support.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children with autism and/or behavioural needs.

  • Be calm, nurturing, and able to use a consistent approach to behaviour.

  • Be confident working on a 1:1 basis and able to adapt learning tasks.

  • Be available full-time and long-term.
