We are looking for a Mechanical Designer in the Stockport Area!

Our client is a well-established M&E contractor based in Stockport, known for delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical solutions across commercial fit out projects nationwide.

With a strong pipeline of work and a reputation for technical excellence, they're now looking for a skilled and detail-driven Mechanical Designer to join their growing design team.

As the Mechanical Designer, you'll play a key role in delivering innovative and compliant mechanical systems across a variety of commercial environments.

You'll work closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to turn concepts into fully coordinated technical designs that are ready for construction.

What You'll Do:

  • Create detailed mechanical designs (HVAC, public health, etc.) using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Interpret project briefs, specifications, and technical drawings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure fully coordinated designs.
  • Prepare drawings, schematics, schedules, and technical documentation.
  • Attend site surveys and design meetings when required.
  • Ensure designs comply with current regulations, standards, and client requirements.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in mechanical building services design, ideally in commercial fit out.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; Revit experience highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations and CIBSE guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
  • HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering preferred.
