Are you an experienced General Manager in the packaging industry, looking to take charge and lead a state of the art facility for a company who will continually reinvest in your career and reward you with performance bonuses?

This company have been established for over 100 years, providing paperboard and packaging solutions to a wide range of industries, from carboard tubes and cores, to reels of solid board. This company prioritise continuously growing and modernising their depot, to stay on top of the competition, leading the UK market and exporting globally.

The ideal candidate will have managerial experience in a paper milling setting, with an understanding of the engineering and distribution of paperboard. You will be undertaking full leadership of production, people and health & safety across the site. You must be able to solve any problems that arise throughout the process, with a hands-on innovative approach.

This role would suit an General Manager in the packaging industry, looking to progress their career and be rewarded for their efforts within an industry leading paperboard manufacturing company.

The role:

  • Oversee production, maintenance, and engineering to ensure the smooth operation of the paperboard manufacturing process
  • Lead a diverse team by driving H&S compliance, staff development, and team engagement
  • Monitor and improve quality, safety, and operational KPIs
  • Ensure full regulatory and environmental compliance
  • Develop and champion innovative, data-driven solutions to boost service and value of the products

The person:

  • Proven experience in the engineering of paperboard and the paper making process
  • Experience in a commercial setting, including P&L oversight or strategic business planning
  • Full UK driving licence
