Your new companyA leading provider of industrial technology (software/hardware) and services to the manufacturing and critical infrastructure sectors.

Your new roleThe Junior PM will be joining a support team of circa 40 people and will report into the Technical Success Manager. You will be responsible for the scoping and delivery of small/medium-level consultancy projects with end user customers, typically 10 to 50 days in terms of resource and up to £50,000 in value, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to customer satisfaction and within budget. My client is ideally seeking someone with 3 to 4 years customer facing project delivery experience, so strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential. This is an initial 12-month FTC but may develop in to a permanent position and is a progressive role for the right candidate who is looking to build out a career within the Project Management space.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of small and medium sized consultancy projects, delivering project documentation, mitigating risks and resolving issues in order to achieve quoted consultancy margins.
  • Coordinate with technical resources with appropriate skillsets for consultancy projects to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, scheduling meetings, setting agendas and managing expectations and project risks.
  • Assist with pre-sales project scoping and tender return documentation ensuring that project risks are identified and controlled as early as possible.
  • Create and update project Gantt charts, project and quality plans, to report on progress including effort / cost to complete for consultancy projects and resource utilisation.
  • Ensure high standards of quality by adherence to consultancy processes, updating project records, support auditing and compliance checks, and commitment to continuously improve ways of working.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Excellent organisational and customer facing communication skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of project management techniques including the ability to create projects, track labour usage and ensure that budgets are complied with.
  • Experience of engagement with varied groups of stakeholders, including sales, consultants, suppliers and customers.
  • Competent IT user with good experience using Microsoft Office Software and other in-house toolsets.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics and Microsoft Business Central software is desirable.
  • Project Management certification (Prince2 or PMP).
