Due to continued growth they are looking for IT Support Engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

Job Purpose:

To maintain and support our clients digital infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure IT services for both internal teams and global customers. This role encompasses advanced Linux system administration, networking, database management, and DevOps, while also providing technical support and troubleshooting across the organisation.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Maintain and support digital systems for our client and its global customers, ensuring high availability and security.

• Support manufacturing testing for new custom systems, ensuring smooth integration with existing systems.

• Act as internal Helpdesk support, troubleshooting technical issues across teams.

• Provide internal IT support for Windows clients, VoIP systems, and general office IT infrastructure.

• Administer in-house servers, networking, and security, including Linux-based environments.

• Manage Linux (Debian) servers, handling package management, Apache, DNS, DHCP, Asterisk, and OpenVPN configurations.

• Administer PostgreSQL databases.

• The role may require variable working hours, including early mornings, weekends, and sometimes short notice availability.

• Create and maintain documentation regarding internal IT processes and customer systems.

• Implement and maintain version control systems (Git) for internal development and collaboration.

• Provide DevOps support, automating infrastructure deployments and CI/CD workflows.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Technical support experience, ability to diagnose and resolve IT issues for internal teams and customers.
  • Linux administration, experience with Debian-based systems, including security, networking, and service configuration.
  • Experience administering Microsoft domain environments (ideally Microsoft365/EntraID)
  • Strong understanding of PostgreSQL administration.
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts. Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and VoIP (Asterisk).
  • An understanding of the use of Bash, Python, and SQL for automation and system management.
  • Proficiency in Git for source code and infrastructure configuration management.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Occasional overseas travel for up to one week may be required.
  • Experience in application or web application support would be beneficial
