We’re on the lookout for a skilled Mechanical Fitter or HGV/Plant Mechanic to join a leading defence manufacturer in Stockport. You’ll be working on specialist bridge launcher systems – assembling and fitting components onto drivable HGV platforms in a clean, modern facility.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Fitting mechanical and hydraulic components to military vehicles
Working from drawings and instructions to assemble precision systems
Using hand tools, torque wrenches, verniers and lifting equipment
Ensuring quality and safety standards are met at every stage

What We’re Looking For:

Background in mechanical fitting, HGV/plant maintenance or heavy assembly
Confident reading engineering drawings and using workshop tools
Some experience with hydraulics or pneumatics
A team player with a safety-first mindset

Bonus If You Have:

Ex-forces (REME) or defence sector experience
Forklift or crane ticket
Welding/fabrication knowledge
