Fabric Production Manager

Hours: Monday – Friday 07:30-16:30

40 hours per week – 1-hour unpaid break

Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE

We are working with a leading name in the fabric manufacturing sector, currently seeking a Fabric Production Manager to take ownership of their fabric production operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will manage daily activities across the manufacturing department – driving performance, improving quality, reducing waste, and ensuring smooth production output. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background within fabric or textile production, and a proven track record of managing people, processes, and machinery in a fast-paced environment.

Duties include:

Direct daily management of the manufacturing departments within the Fabric’s Division and the employees therein.

Review fabric operator requirements through agreed planning to ensure best utilisation of machinery to achieve stock deadlines and specific targets.

Drive performance on KPIs, namely:

Improving quality

Reducing waste

Efficiencies

Productivity

Minimising out of stocks

Review processing performance to schedule.

Review and develop when agreed the manufacturing capability and performance in line with the company’s changing requirements.

Ensure correct operator training and machine running procedures are met and are reviewed on a scheduled basis, including operator assessments.

Monitor fabric processing and ensure consistent and repeatable operating specifications are met and variances are highlighted.

Monitor production performance against targeted waste.

Review and in agreement manage the departments training and health and safety manuals.

Work closely with the departments QC team to ensure agreed finished quality standards are met and identify areas of improvement.

Ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with agreed schedules.

Ensure all production data is accurate and within the running specifications for the fabric qualities produced.

Assess the machinery with the maintenance department to ensure correct operation.

Essential Criteria:

Experience of implementing lean management and managing change.

Previous experience in a Managerial role within fabric production.

Evidence of strong analytical skills.

Desirable Criteria:

Knowledge of polymer coating chemistry and application.
