Are you a technically focused engineer looking for a varied role that combines project management, site coordination, and customer interaction

Our client, a UK-based division of an international engineering group, specialises in delivering ventilation focused engineering solutions across a range of industrial sectors. As part of their ongoing UK expansion, they are seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of technical solutions for major clients. This is a hands-on role with strong collaboration between technical and commercial teams, offering a clear route for development and long-term progression.

Based partly from the Stockport office and frequently visiting customer sites across the UK, you’ll play a vital part in overseeing the full lifecycle of each project—from internal handover and technical planning to final installation and commissioning. The ideal candidate will bring engineering know-how, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to manage stakeholders and ensure project success. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate relevant industry experience and a strong technical engineering skill-set; for high-potential individuals with strong academic credentials, relevant, ideally UK-based engineering experience is also required.

Job Description

  • Act as the key point of contact for live projects following sales confirmation

  • Coordinate technical requirements, documentation and supplier inputs

  • Liaise with internal teams to plan resource and scheduling for site works

  • Attend meetings with clients to agree project scope and review progress

  • Ensure installations run smoothly, resolving issues and adapting plans as needed

  • Support site-based activities including documentation, compliance and safety

  • Track costs and manage project budgets in collaboration with the finance team

  • Assist with testing and final handover to ensure client satisfaction

Person Specification

Essential:

  • HNC or above in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical or related Engineering discipline

  • Solid foundation in engineering principles, with at least 3 years’ relevant experience

  • Comfortable working both on-site and in a customer-facing environment

  • Strong communication, organisation and analytical problem-solving skills

  • UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally

  • Located within approximately 1 hour of Stockport

Desirable:

  • Background in mechanical or industrial engineering projects

  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site works

  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of cost tracking and project margins

  • Exposure to safety documentation (RAMS), commissioning or after-sales support
