Stockport Council are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join a well-structured and dynamic team. The client offers a full-time contract with an opportunity to work from home, a fair and manageable caseload and further training in your portfolio. The vacancy will be for an initial 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.

Main Duties for the Occupational Therapist includes.

  • Assessment of service users and carers with complex needs in relation to home environment.
  • OT will review the Package of Care and liaise with our neighbourhood teams following this review.
  • Experience in Moving and Handling is essentialas well as Single handed care knowledge.
  • Assess and treat patients requiring ward-based rehabilitation and assessment for discharge planning.
  • Working along side the Team Manager. Visits to residents homes will be required. To ensure collaboration with our partner agencies.
  • Experience of functional assessment experience of working with people with disabilities/vulnerable people.
  • Providing expert advice, and assessments for equipment and home modifications.
  • Recommending adaptations.
  • An awareness of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable people, plus an understanding of the importance of dignity & respect when dealing with people.

To Be Successful.

  • Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community.
  • Experienced Adult Social Care OT required with minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • Previous experience working with adaptations.
  • Specialising in Single handed care/ complex moving and handling.
  • Manual handling experience.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Occupational Therapist Qualification.
