We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the safe and efficient delivery of Works Delivery projects across the Eastern Region. You will be accountable for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and environmental standards, in accordance with GRIP, Network Rail standards, and current legislation.

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of high-profile rail projects, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver projects safely, to time, cost, and quality standards, in line with GRIP, Network Rail standards, and HMRI guidance.

  • Lead, inspire, and develop specialist teams, working collaboratively with Project Engineers and stakeholders to meet route objectives.

  • Manage and implement CDM requirements to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Direct multi-disciplinary teams (engineering, commercial, programme controls, etc.) to develop solutions and establish robust baseline plans.

  • Oversee resource planning across current and future work banks, identifying and managing critical requirements.

  • Support the development and maintenance of project requirements, including business cases that justify costs, benefits, and risks.

  • Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective engagement at all levels.

  • Lead project reviews, monitoring performance, risks, contingencies, and overall progress, implementing mitigations where needed.

  • Manage change control processes with clients and contractors in line with Network Rail governance.

  • Support accident investigations when required.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.

  • Member of the APMor equivalent, ideally working towards chartered status.

  • Successful experience in applying CDM regulations.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

  • Proven track record in contracting and project delivery within rail or infrastructure.

  • In-depth knowledge ofbudget managementand financial controls.

  • Strong decision-making and evaluation skills.

  • Demonstrable experience in safety management for project delivery.
