Sonic Summary

The job position is for a Software Architect (Safety) located in Cheadle, requiring on-site presence for 5 days a week, although 3 days may be negotiable after an orientation period.
The role offers a rate of £70 per hour on a limited company basis and is classified as outside IR35, with an initial contract duration of 6 months.
Candidates must possess SC Clearance to start and have significant experience in safety-critical or safety-related systems, ideally with knowledge of IEC 61508, IEC 62304, or IEC 26262.
Essential skills include proficiency in C/C++, Java, large distributed system software design, high integrity coding practices, and strong technical documentation abilities.
Practical experience with requirements management tools like DOORS or Polarion is also required, along with a strong understanding of software lifecycles and FMEA.

Software Architect (Safety)

Location: Cheadle

5 Days on site preferable but 3 days could be workable following an initial period of orientation

Rate: £70 ph Ltd

Outside IR35

Duration: 6 months initial

Key Skillset

Essential:

C/C++
Java
Large Distributed System Software Design
Significant experience safety critical or safety related systems (IEC 61508 ideal / IEC 62304 or IEC 26262 possible)
Significant knowledge of high integrity coding practices and tooling (Unit test, Static Analysis etc) and software lifecycles
Strong technical documentation skills
Knowledge of Software FMEA
Strong technical documentation skills
Practical experience of working with Requirements Management tools such as DOORS or Polarion.

Desirable:

UML and modelling methods
Knowledge of embedded systems
Previous Defence Industry Experience
Experience of Atlassian Tools
Experience with virtualisation environments and containerisation.
Good appreciation of IP networking protocols.
Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tooling such as Jenkins and JFROG Artifactory.
