Prospero Teaching is supporting an inclusive and nurturing primary school in the Stockport (SK7) area, dedicated to ensuring every child reaches their full potential. We are looking for a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child with severe Autism and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference.

Your Role:
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Work closely with a child with complex needs including severe Autism and PDA.

Build a trusting and consistent relationship to support emotional regulation and learning.

Deliver tailored interventions based on EHCP targets and advice from external professionals.

Provide a calm, patient, and flexible approach to minimise anxiety and maximise engagement.

Support the childs participation both inside and outside the classroom.

What Were Looking For:
We are seeking an SEN specialist who has:

A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3) or equivalent.

Proven experience supporting children with Autism, PDA, and high SEN needs.

A nurturing, adaptable, and resilient approach to behaviour support.

Strong communication skills to work effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.

Eligibility Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK.

Have an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).

Provide two professional child-related references.

Hold up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable training can be provided).
