We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher with a specialism in English and Maths to join our team in Stockport. This role is ideal for a passionate teacher who thrives in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver differentiated English and Maths lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Adapt teaching methods to support students with a range of SEND, including SEMH, ASD, and learning difficulties
Track and assess student progress, implementing targeted interventions where necessary
Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent support
Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Support students with developing life skills and confidence alongside academic progress
Must-Have Skills:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS
Strong subject knowledge in English and Maths
Proven experience teaching students with SEND
Excellent behaviour management and communication skills
Understanding of safeguarding and commitment to student wellbeing
Good-to-Have Skills:
Experience writing and reviewing EHCP targets
Knowledge of Makaton, PECs, or other communication systems
Familiarity with trauma-informed or therapeutic teaching approaches
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Additional SEND qualifications (NASENCO, Autism Awareness, Team Teach)
Experience delivering functional skills or entry-level qualifications
Creative lesson planning using practical, hands-on approaches
