Proactive personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Fitter.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fitter to join a rapidly evolving and busy company based in Poynton. We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fitter to join our team, specialising in the repair, maintenance, and refurbishment of concrete mixers and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical abilities, problem-solving skills, and experience working with heavy-duty machinery in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires excellent communication skills: including verbal and written English and the ability to work to timescales in a challenging environment.

Salary: 36,000 annually

24 Days Annual Leave

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical faults on concrete mixers and associated equipment
  • Carry out repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance
  • Strip down, rebuild, and test mixer components
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within safety guidelines
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used
  • Work both independently and as part of a team to meet operational deadlines
  • Assist with onsite breakdowns when required

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a mechanical fitter or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience working with heavy plant or construction equipment (preferred)
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Commitment to safe working practices

Desirable:

  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Relevant engineering qualification or apprenticeship
