Site Engineer
We’re supporting a well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong presence across the North East. With a healthy order book and a reputation for delivering high-quality work, they’re looking to add a Site Engineer to their growing team.
You’ll work on a broad range of civil engineering schemes — including infrastructure, groundworks, highways, drainage, utilities, and external works. Each project brings something different, and you’ll be joining a supportive team that values technical accuracy and a proactive approach.
Role Responsibilities
-
Setting out and surveying to ensure works are delivered accurately and to specification.
-
Carrying out quality checks, record-keeping, and site documentation.
-
Working alongside Site Management, subcontractors, and design teams to maintain progress and solve problems on site.
-
Monitoring materials, programme, and site standards, including health & safety.
-
Producing as-built information and maintaining essential project records.
What We’re Looking For
-
Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or groundworks projects.
-
Strong setting out skills with good knowledge of QA processes and construction techniques.
-
Competent with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (experience with digital field tools is an advantage).
-
A practical, organised engineer who communicates well and works effectively with site teams.
-
Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering.
-
CSCS card required. Any additional site certifications are helpful but not essential.
What’s on Offer
-
Competitive salary or day rate, dependent on experience.
-
Company vehicle or car allowance where applicable.
-
Pension and benefits package where applicable.
-
Ongoing training and clear opportunities for career development.
-
A supportive, straight-forward team that values its engineers.
If you’re looking for a hands-on engineering role with diverse projects and long-term stability, we’d be keen to hear from you.
