PM Group is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for a Pharmaceutical client in Northumberland.
Responsibilities
- Working as part of the project management team, working to deliver a portfolio of structural steel, cladding & fabrication projects.
- Supporting the project manager in scoping and delivery of the projects portfolio.
- Working with projects team to monitor delivery of projects.
- Overseeing technical building design, ensuring schedule is on spec and reviewing technical specifications.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and erection plans.
- Technical oversight of the scope, design and procurement of project.
- Construction management including construction timeline, in order to ensure delivery of projects on time and within budget constraints.
- Working alongside existing client engineers, managers, and directors.
- Leading the project team through all stages of the projects.
- Acting as a client representative in meetings and discussions with third party vendors..
- Attending and overseeing testing on site and off site.
- Managing risk and change, securing additional budget as required.
- Reviewing construction sequence method statements, input to lift plans and risk assessments for each scope of work contained within the building fabric prior to commencement of the activity.
- Ensuring and monitoring that CDM regulations are adhered to.
- Working alongside third party contractors and offering input into process design and installation.
- Collaborating with other client departments and offering technical support as required.
- Ensuring the delivery of projects in a way that is compliant with EU and UK health and safety regulations, as well as client procedures and protocols.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have proven experience of working as a Building Services Engineer/ Structural Engineer or similar on projects with extensive mechanical/civil engineering elements.
- Candidates should be qualified in Civil/ Structural/ Mechanical engineering.
- A background of working on structural steel projects is essential
- A background working in a Pharmaceutical/ Clean Room/ Biotech/ GMP environment is essential.
- Knowledge of standard industry practices, procedures and safety measures is essential.
- Candidates must be excellent communicators, able to lead and focus a multi-disciplined engineering team.
- The successful candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to challenge and work with other technical engineers and project stakeholders.
