Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Pay and Working Hours
Rate of Pay: £15.96
Working Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team supporting schools across the North East. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting an inclusive learning environment and ensuring that all pupils are supported to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to individual pupils and small groups, both in and out of the classroom.
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management, and learning activities.
- Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN) in accordance with individual education plans (IEPs).
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to teaching staff.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school community and uphold its values and standards.
Person Specification
- A patient, empathetic, and professional approach to supporting pupils.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction from teaching staff.
- Commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
- You must hold or be willing to have an Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service
