Jackson Hogg Procurement division are partnering with an engineering consultancy in Stockton-on-Tees on the appointment of a Procurement Manager to join their team.

This is a full time and permanent role that can offer a competitive salary and benefits including up to 2 days per week WFH, enhanced pension contribution in addition to buy and sell holiday scheme.

We are looking for someone with strong people management skills and experience managing high value ITTs and contract implementation/contract management. We also require someone who has successfully developed procurement strategies and worked in a procurement and contract role.

The Role:

  • Responsible for cross functional guidance on procurement processes.

  • Provide support to different sites and various departments regarding procurement processes.

  • Manage and maintain procurement procedures and processes. Regularly review and update policies to reflect best practice.

  • Specify, maintain and support relevant systems.

  • Responsible for commercial negotiations. Lead contract negotiations with suppliers and manage supplier relationships.

  • Provide transition support to the wider business for the smooth integration of new sites.

  • Support the Group Procurement Manager and act as deputy in their absence.

  • Act as part of the Procurement Management Team. Collaborate with other management team members to align procurement objectives and develop the procurement strategy.

  • Develop, implement and manage the organisation’s procurement plan to support both short and long term objectives.

  • Governance of group supply chain tendering activities. Oversee the full tendering lifecycle, ensuring all activities comply with governance frameworks. Ensure transparency, fairness and value-for-money outcomes throughout the tendering process.

  • Be the key point of contact for procurement related enquiries and provide training to staff.

  • Oversight of supplier compliance. Conduct regular reviews of supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Develop and maintain an audit schedule to ensure procurement activities adhere to internal controls, policies and relevant regulations.

  • Conduct regular internal audits and facilitate external audits as required.

  • Oversight of the vendor approval process. Conduct due diligence and risk assessments during supplier evaluation.

  • Providing detailed reports to Senior Leadership Team on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

  • Line manager responsibilities. Support and develop existing team members and lead recruitment activities for new hires.

  • CIPS Qualified
  • Experience of managing high value ITTs and contract implementation and leading and guiding others
  • Extensive procurement and contract experience
  • Coaching and mentoring team members
  • Developing and managing the procurement process
  • Managing teams
  • Managing client relationships
  • Knowledge of terms and conditions
  • Developing procurement strategy
