Payroll Team LeadLocation: Stockton-on-TeesSalary: £38,000 – £45,000JGA Recruitment is proud to partner with a respected international organisation in the search for a Payroll & HR Team Lead to join their HR function. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned payroll professional with leadership experience to step into a varied role spanning payroll, benefits, HR administration, and process optimisation.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team delivering accurate and efficient payroll, benefits, and HR administration services across multiple regions.
  • Ensure timely and compliant payroll processing in line with internal policies and statutory regulations.
  • Oversee payroll vendor relationships and HR systems to maintain high service standards.
  • Support general ledger reconciliations and address payroll-related accounting queries.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance payroll and HR operations.
  • Manage onboarding processes, HR transactions, and company fleet administration.
  • Play an active role in both global and local HR projects, including compliance initiatives.
Skills & Experience:
  • Strong background in UK payroll processing and compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams within a shared service or HR/payroll environment.
  • Exposure to European payroll operations is a plus.
  • Experience with payroll-related accounting and general ledger reconciliation (preferred).
  • Familiarity with HR and payroll systems – experience with Workday and Resourcelink is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage outsourced payroll vendors.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong IT literacy.
  • Change management experience with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Professional, ethical, and collaborative working style, aligned with company values.
