Production SupervisorLocation: SedgefieldPurpose of Role:My client is looking for a Production Supervisor to ensure that production targets, including output and quality, are met in accordance with standard operating procedures. This role is responsible for overseeing production resources, maintaining safety and quality standards, and driving team performance.Summary of Responsibilities:
  • Ensure correct deployment of production resources to meet all customer requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures and standards, while ensuring a safe and clean production environment.
  • Monitor production processes and resources continuously, ensuring targets are met and alerting the Production Manager to any issues.
  • Collaborate with support functions to resolve issues related to production planning, resource, and skill allocation, ensuring products are delivered on schedule and within quality specifications.
  • Drive team performance by providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and motivation, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Execute the daily, weekly, and monthly production plan, identifying risks and making short-term adjustments to maintain operations.
  • Compile the weekly Kitting Plan and ensure all non-conformances are addressed with timely countermeasures.
  • Plan and manage team absences and first-line absence issues, including real-time completion of return-to-work documentation.
  • Support New Product Introductions (NPI) to ensure smooth transitions into production.
  • Ensure timely closure of all Production Work Orders and the return of over-issued components to Stores with the necessary paperwork.
  • Recruit and train new production operators to meet operational requirements.
  • Address Corrective Action Reports by identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
  • Conduct annual appraisals and manage ongoing performance of all manufacturing staff.
  • Ensure adherence to working time regulations, including breaks, and maintain high housekeeping standards.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
  • At least 4 years of supervisory experience in a microelectronics or cleanroom manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with working in a quality-controlled environment, preferably to ISO standards.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work to quality standards and specifications.
  • Proven experience in leading and motivating teams, using appropriate interpersonal skills, and providing clear direction and responsibilities.
  • Computer literate and knowledgeable in statistical processes.
  • A positive, can-do attitude, self-motivation, and flexibility.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, proactively identifying and addressing issues.
  • Capability to monitor data, identify problem areas, and set/manage WIP-related targets.
