Service Development & Sales Engineer

Who we are:

MCE Group has been improving UK plant reliability since 1990. It provides 24-7 emergency services, operations improving diagnostic services, and comprehensive valve management services. It's ValvPerformance Testing® and Valve Maintenance Database (VMD), provide its customers with improved uptime and superior asset management. Its customer base is diverse due to its broad expertise in various industry requirements of valve maintenance. MCE is a ValvTechnologies Authorized Repair Centre, a Fisher Control Valve Authorized Service Facility, and holds several long-term contracts with major power plant operators and process industry leaders throughout the UK.

What you’ll do:

  • Achieve or exceed the annual order intake budgets for the specified territory.
  • Measure and improve quotation conversion rate for the specified territory.
  • Ensure active upkeep and utilization of the CRM system in order that accurate forecasting and measurement of success can be managed via the database.
  • To interpret the client’s specific technical requirements to be able to size and select the correct solution from the Severn Glocon and MCE product range utilize tools available.
  • To have a good understanding of Client's technical specifications to be able to determine agreement or carefully manage any deviations.
  • To be able to liaise and manage sub suppliers of ancillary equipment to have valid quotations for any equipment that may be required to fulfil the quotation to the client.
  • To be able to price the specific items, utilizing tools available and manage the expected deliverable margins.
  • Correctly interpret the client's specific commercial requirements to be able to determine agreement or carefully manage any deviations.
  • To take responsibility for the identification and communication of technical, commercial, financial and reputational risks.
  • To liaise with all necessary departments to be able to reduce and submit a comprehensive quotation that captures all technical/commercial/legal/quality requirements applicable within the expected timescale requested by the client.
  • To work closely with the responsible Operations Manager & Regional Sales Manager, to respond to all queries raised by the client, in a timely manner during their evaluation of the quotation.
  • To process any resulting order so that it can be handed over to the Contracts department in a clean and timely manner providing all of the necessary information for the successful management of the contract.
  • To be available to attend internal review/kick off meetings, post order, and if required kick off meetings in client's offices.
  • To be available to manage any technical/commercial changes, answer any inter departmental/client queries and attend any progress/customer meetings as required during the contract management process.
  • To prospect, engage and build relationships with potential and existing customers through phone, digital, virtual and in-person techniques.

What you’ll need:

  • Degree with one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of valves, within the oil and gas industry is essential. Understanding of Mechanical Engineering terminology, and existing key account relationships with businesses within the territory would be advantageous.
  • Application expertise and sound knowledge of sales.
