Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking a Family Worker to support reunification and Special Guardianship Order conversions within a Local Authority. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week.

Overview:
This role focuses on helping children and young people achieve safe, stable, and permanent outcomes within their family networks. The successful candidate will work closely with families, carers, and professionals to support reunification plans, guide SGO conversions, and deliver targeted interventions that strengthen relationships and reduce risk.

Main Duties:

  • Work with families to support safe and sustainable reunification plans
  • Guide carers and families through the SGO conversion process with clear advice and practical support
  • Complete assessments and contribute to care planning in partnership with Social Workers and other professionals
  • Deliver focused interventions to strengthen family relationships and promote positive change
  • Monitor progress and provide ongoing support to ensure successful and stable transitions
  • Maintain accurate records and share information in line with local procedures

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in family support, reunification work, or permanence planning
  • Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, and statutory frameworks
  • Effective communication and engagement skills with children, families, and professionals
  • Ability to manage complex cases and work collaboratively within multi agency environments
  • Commitment to improving outcomes for care experienced children and young people
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
