A well-established and forward-thinking systems integration specialist, operating within highly regulated and technically demanding sectors such as energy, nuclear, renewables, and manufacturing, is seeking a Assistant Management Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. About the Role Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Management Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of core finance processes, while supporting senior finance stakeholders and contributing to wider business performance. This is a varied position suited to someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and confident in supporting across multiple areas of finance. Key Responsibilities • Cashflow Management: Perform daily bank reconciliations, update cashflow forecasts, and liaise with sales and purchase ledger teams to ensure accurate reporting. • Month-End Close: Prepare and post journals, including accruals, prepayments, and project adjustments. • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Complete monthly reconciliations and quarterly cut-off testing. • Reporting & Governance: Produce monthly reports analysing variances against budget/forecast and engage with stakeholders to provide insight. • Utilisation Monitoring: Create weekly utilisation reports and collaborate with Finance Business Partners to improve forecasting accuracy. • Fixed Assets: Maintain the fixed asset register, process additions/disposals, and support capex committee meetings with relevant reporting. • Audit Support: Assist with year-end and interim audits, respond to auditor queries, and help prepare statutory accounts. • Team Support: Provide cover and support across the finance team, including sales and purchase ledger, during busy periods. • Ad Hoc Tasks: Support the wider finance function with project work and continuous improvements.
