Senior Accountant Job Vacancy

This leading accountancy firm in Stoke-on-Trent is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their successful team in a supervisor y capacity. They are hoping to meet a go-getter, someone who can get stuck in and become part of and help lead a happy and productive team providing a full suite of general accounting services for a varied portfolio of clients.

This role offers plenty of benefits including hybrid working (2 days from home per week) and a 2pm Friday finish!

What are we looking for? You’ll already have demonstrable experience of working within an accountancy practice and some supervisory skills and you'll be ACA, ACCA or CA qualified, QBA or a finalist.

We're searching for a seasoned and confident communicator, someone who is ambitious and as well as offering enhanced attention to detail, has some creative flair and can help retain and procure clients. You will have knowledge of using most PC and cloud-based accounting systems. You will also have good analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as being able to work as part of team.

Job Purpose

  • Review and preparation of statutory and management accounts.
  • Review and preparation of personal and corporate tax computations.
  • The provision of some audit services.
  • Oversight of the preparation of VAT returns.
  • Supervising the team, nurturing staff knowledge and supporting them to develop their skills.
  • Offering enhanced client relationships.
  • Networking and business development.
  • Knowledge of most accounting packages.
  • Work closely with the Client Managers on any ad hoc projects, as necessary.
  • Work as part of a team that fosters a supportive working environment.
