Accounts AssistantAre you a passionate finance professional, love working with numbers, Excel and personal development?If you have answered YES to the above, then read on for more information about this Accounts Assistant opportunity…We have the pleasure to support with the recruitment of an Accounts Assistant for a long-established manufacturing business in Stoke on Trent. You will be led by a qualified Financial Controller to take full control of the sales ledger and support with month end tasks. Based in Stoke-on-Trent, you will be working within a small and successful Finance team, where you will support and contribute towards the businesses continued success. What experience we need from you?

  • Raising Accounts Receivable invoices on a daily basis
  • Posting Accounts Receivable receipts on a daily basis
  • Ensure Credit Control collection in line with company payment policy
  • Monthly reporting for Accounts Receivable and specific customers
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship(s) with all departments (particularly Customer Support), colleagues and customers
  • Maintenance of customer information on Accounts Receivable ledger
  • Monitor delivery note reports to enable efficient timing on invoice production
  • Upload data requirements for Invoice Discounting Facility
  • Production and distribution of monthly customer statements
  • Conduct 6 month/annual credit checks on customer database
  • Assisting the Financial Controller with month end processes including preparing appropriate journals for month end close i.e. accruals, debit/credit cards
  • Contribute to achieve month end close i.e. bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations - Working Day 10
  • Assist with annual statutory audit procedures
  • To work with the Financial Controller to continually improve processes

What you will need to succeed?

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • You must be self-motivated, and enthusiastic and have a strong willingness to learn and progress
  • Qualified by experience or studying towards AAT
