As our Workshop Controller, you will be integral to the continued success of our After Sales Service Department. You will be responsible for ensuring quality control and ensuring compliance in the workshop. You will assign tasks to our skilled technicians, and monitor progress ensuring work is completed to manufacturer guidelines and industry regulations to deliver exceptional customer service.

Aftersales Operation

Oversee daily operations of the workshop, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.

Manage and motivate a team of technicians, providing clear instructions and guidance.

To administer Technicians clockings on a daily basis

Allocate work effectively, balancing productivity and quality.

To raise estimates as and when required.

Plan, schedule, allocate and supervise workflow through the workshop to achieve high levels of efficiency, productivity and utilisation

Monitor job progress, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery of vehicles.

Liaise with service advisors, parts departments, and customers to maintain excellent service levels.

Drive performance, efficiency, and profitability across the workshop.

Utilise workshop resources to maximise financial and operational performance against objectives without compromising work quality.

Provide cover for the Workshop Supervisor when required

Administration

When required, to check through completed workshop job cards to identify any shortcomings that will prevent the production of an invoice and notify these to appropriate staff.

To manage and maintain the vehicle files.

Customer Feedback & Follow-ups Collecting feedback, addressing complaints, and implementing improvements for better customer satisfaction.

Documentation & Record Keeping Maintaining service records, warranties, and customer history for future reference.

Reporting & Data Analysis Generating reports on after-sales performance, warranty claims, and customer service metrics.

Communication

Lead, coach and develop the workshop team.

Ensure effective communication between workshop and front of house team to keep customers fully appraised of vehicle progress through the workshop.

Supporting the Workshop Manager / controller in the workshop planning and working towards department KPIs.

Drive and maintain a team culture of high performance and exemplary customer service.

Compliance and Quality

Conduct quality audits of technicians work to ensure highest levels of manufacturer and customer expectations are met

Maintain Health & Safety standards to ensure a clean and safe working environment in the workshop.

Update and coordinate the VOR record (including Internal / Isuzu / customers)

What you will need:

  • Previous experience within the automotive industry, particularly workshop control or technician
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills
  • Problem solving and decision making
  • Ability to communicate well with customers and colleagues across different departments, both face-to-face and via email
  • Motivated and able to motivate other
  • Ability to work under pressure
