Sales Manager Permanent Stoke on Trent Up to £45,000kb - OTE £60,000 + Car / Allowance 35 hours Monday - Friday (Hybrid)

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Sales Manager to lead and develop a team of field-based and internal sales professionals. This is a pivotal role for someone who is not only a results-driven leader but also a strategic thinker, capable of building a strong, scalable sales function from the ground up.

Please note, although this role is working on a hybrid basis - all candidates considered must be local to office in order to travel there as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of field sales executives and internal account managers, ensuring clear KPIs, goals, and accountability.
  • Design and execute a comprehensive sales strategy focused on growth, retention, and market penetration.
  • Build the sales structure and reporting mechanisms from scratch, introducing best-in-class tools, training, and performance tracking.
  • Conduct regular field visits to support the team, attend client meetings, and assess market trends.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, product, and operations teams to align efforts and drive consistent messaging and customer experience.
  • Monitor and report on team performance, sales pipeline, and key metrics - using insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top sales talent to build a sustainable, high-performing team culture.
  • Represent the business at client meetings, events, and exhibitions as required.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A proven Sales Manager with experience leading field sales teams, ideally with exposure to internal sales management too.
  • Strong strategic thinker - comfortable setting a vision, then executing it with precision and adaptability.
  • Experience in SaaS, tech, or B2B service industries is ideal; exposure to the automotive sector is a bonus but not essential.
  • Passionate about coaching and developing people - able to inspire performance and accountability.
  • Highly organised, commercially focused, and confident using CRM and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communicator and relationship-builder with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • A self-starter who thrives in scale-up or transformation environments.
