A client within the Public Sector based in Staffordshire is currently recruiting for a Principal Building Control Surveyor to join their Building Regulations team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Building Control environment.The RoleKey purpose of the role is to support the Building Regulations Team Manager in delivering high-quality, statutory building control services, managing a small team, and deputising where required.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Lead and manage a high-performing Building Control team, ensuring statutory duties are fulfilled.
Inspect building works, assess plans, and enforce compliance with Building Regulations.
Represent the authority on safety at sports grounds and manage issues relating to dangerous structures and high-rise buildings.

The CandidateTo be considered for this role you will require:

A degree in Building Surveying (or similar) or equivalent qualifications and experience.
A recognised fire safety qualification for high-rise buildings.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

Experience working unsupervised on dangerous structures and safety at sports grounds.
Proven leadership and communication skills, including managing partnerships and regulatory frameworks.
Strong analytical skills to interpret complex legislation and provide expert advice.
