Responsibilities – Fire Alarm Service Engineer
As a Fire Alarm Service Engineer, your role will include:
- Carry out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of fire detection systems
- Work with emergency lighting systems and fire alarm technologies across diverse sites
- Install and commission fire alarm systems, focusing on Advanced and Kentec panels
- Plan and complete scheduled maintenance and responsive service visits
- Diagnose faults using systematic fault-finding techniques
- Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately
- Lead small-to-medium installation projects when required
- Ensure compliance with BS7671:2018, BS5839-1:2017, and BS5839-6:2019
- Deliver professional customer service at all times
Requirements – Fire Alarm Service Engineer
- Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer or similar technical role
- FIA Units 1–5 (or equivalent qualifications)
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations
- Strong technical knowledge of fire detection systems
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- A professional and customer-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Full UK driving licence
- Electrical background essential
- Physically fit and able to work at heights or in confined spaces
