We are currently recruiting on behalf of Stoke-on-Trent City Council for a Principal Manager to lead their Childrens Emergency Duty Team. This senior role is ideal for an experienced and resilient leader passionate about delivering high-quality, outcome-focused services for children, young people, and their families.
This is a fantastic opportunity to drive practice excellence, performance improvement, and team development in a high-impact service. Youll play a key role in ensuring the team delivers safe, effective, and timely interventions outside of core hours.
Key Requirements:Must be a Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
Minimum 5 years post-qualifying experience in Childrens Services
Proven management experience within frontline Childrens Social Care, ideally within or alongside an Emergency Duty/Out of Hours Service
Strong leadership, supervision, and quality assurance skills
Ability to manage complex cases and high-risk scenarios in a fast-paced environment
£42.43 per hour (LTD)
Lead a vital out-of-hours team supporting vulnerable children and families
Strategic and operational leadership responsibilities
Manageable caseload oversight and effective support structures
Excellent transport access and hybrid working options

Hourly rates of up to £42 per hour, depending on experience and location
