What skills and qualifications do you need?
Specific qualifications to become a teaching assistant can vary but Academics would require the following.
- GCSE grade C/4 or above in Maths and English
- Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification or similar childcare qualification
- Some experience of working within a school setting / children
- Enhanced DBS check (we can provide a DBS if you do not already have one at a cost)
- Safeguarding Certificate or safeguarding training can be provided
- Good subject knowledge
- Patience and empathy towards pupils you are supporting
- Confidence and a pro-active approach
